Summary:

The question of whether robots possess emotions arises almost daily now—one can even discuss it with the bots themselves. Yet, a quarter of a century ago, this idea existed only on the fringe of technological speculation, far removed from any actual product. Steven Spielberg’s film takes this question as its starting point to craft a dark fantasy about the future of our relationship with a toy that does not yet exist. How will we feel about it? And what will it compel us to do?
