Oren Zuckerman

HCI (Human-Computer Interaction) researcher and designer, Director of miLAB, Reichman University’s Sammy Ofer School of Communications

Oren Zuckerman is an HCI (Human-Computer Interaction) researcher and designer at Reichman University’s School of Communications. Zuckerman researches how people interact with physical-digital technologies, specifically social robots, tangible interfaces, and smart materials. Oren is the academic director of the MA in HCI, the GMBA in Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and the milab research and prototyping lab (http://milab.idc.ac.il/research/). Oren and the milab team publish regularly at CHI, TEI, HRI, IDC, and DIS, with several best papers. The milab’s unique designs were presented at the Vitra museum, academic conferences, and design biennales. Oren has completed his PhD at MIT Media Lab, received the Technology Pioneer award from the World Economic Forum in Davos, and won several research grants in the field of human-robot interaction and artificial intelligence. Oren’s design inspirations include the works of Pina Bausch, Alexander Calder, Bruno Munari, and the Bauhaus movement.
