Shani Kiniso (b. 1995) is a film critic, researcher and curator. His texts are published in the online journal "Off Screen", in the documentary film journal "Takriv" and previously in the "Cinematheque" magazine and film blog "Srita"; he’s co-founder of the "Trashtalk" podcast alongside Gili Porat. Kiniso is from Kibbutz Be'eri, after surviving the October 7th massacre he published the article "For Unimaginable Cinema – A Call to Israeli Filmmakers" in which he detailed the ways in which he believes Israeli cinema should respond to the events of that day. Following the publication, he co-founded with friends and colleagues the Israeli "Unimaginable Cinema Project". Following this, he curated the program "Because You Were Home" at the Tel-Aviv Cinematheque which also constituted a call for one of the directions that Israeli cinema should take following the October 7th massacre.
