Liat Elkayam

Liat Elkayam is a writer, a screenwriter, a critic for Haaretz newspaper, and a lecturer in the cultural studies dep. at Sapir College

Israeli writer, screen writer, culture critic, and journalist. Elkayam teaches at the culture studies department of "Sapir" college. She has been working for "Haaretz" for over 15 years, currently writing book reviews and op ed columns. She was the vice editor of the book reviews supplement. Her debut novel - "Club, Love, Limbo" (AKA "But the Night Is Still Young") was a best seller, won the ministry of culture debut novel award, and was published in Germany. She won the Akademie der Kuntz Berliner award for literature. Her first feature film she as a screenwriter, "Elik and Jimmy", won the Best Debut Film Award and the Best Actor Award at the 2022 Haifa International Film Festival, and was sold and streamed by Netflix.
