Prof. Elana Gomel

Science fiction and fantasy researcher and creative. Professor at the Department of English Literature and American Studies at the Tel Aviv University, science fiction and fantasy author.

Elana Gomel (b. 1961) is an Associate Professor in the Department of English Literature and American Studies at the Tel Aviv University. Prof. Gomel specializes in the science fiction and fantasy genres, researching narrative science, Dickens, Victorian culture, and Post-humanism. She has written six books, several academic articles and published dozens of science fiction and fantasy stories in English, as well as one fantasy novel, "A Tale of Three Cities" (2013, published by Dark Quest Books). Gomel was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, in the Soviet era. Her Jewish family experienced many cases of Anti-Semitism which motivated Gomel to immigrate ("make Aliyah") to Israel in 1978. Prof. Gomel has two children.
