Hanay attended cinematography studies at the Sapir Academic College, Israel. Her short film "The Update" won 8 prizes, including Best Short Film at the Utopia Festival and Best Screenplay at Early Bird International Student Film Festival. Hanay was the initiator and artistic director of the Beer Sheva Short Film Festival - founded in cooperation with the Beer Sheva municipality, the Negev Development Authority, and "Cinema City". These days Hanay is working as a speaker, finishing her master's degree in cinematography, writing her first feature film, based on her short film "The Update", alongside filming her short film "Backyard Camping ".
