Segev Shani

VP of Medicine, Compliance and Regulation, Neopharm Group, Adjunct lecturer in the Department of Health Systems Management at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev

Dr. Segev Shani serves as VP of Medicine, Compliance and Regulation in the neoprene group from March 2008. Dr. Shani has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical market. He served as Deputy CEO of Steba Biotechnology, and medical director of Jansen-Silage in Israel. Previously, Dr. Shani served as Director of the Department of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmaceutical Economics and as Deputy Director of the Department of Pharmacy at the Ministry of Health, as Director of the Unit for Policy and Economics at the Israeli Center for Medical Technologies Assessment at the Gartner Institute, Tel HaShomer and as Director of the Department of Medical Technology Policy for Maccabi Health Services. Dr. Shani is a graduate of the School of Pharmacy and holds a PhD from the School of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Dentistry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Dr. Shani also holds a Master’s in Health Systems Management and a Master’s in Business Administration, both from the School of Business at Tel Aviv University. Recently, Dr. Shani completed his Bachelor of Law degree at Netanya College. Dr. Shani is licensed to practice pharmacy and practice law. Dr. Shani has published dozens of articles on the pharmaceutical market, pharmaceutical economics, medical technology assessment, regulation and pharmacy – Including four books. Dr. Shani serves as an adjunct lecturer in the Department of Health Systems Management at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, teaches the "Policy and Economics" course in the department and in the School of Pharmacy, and guides graduate students. Dr. Shani also gives the course "Strategy and Competition in the Pharmaceutical Market" at Ono Academic College to MBA students with specialization in Health Systems and Pharma Management as well as the course "Medical Technology Management" at the Peres Academic Center.
