Alex Epstein

Alex Epstein is an Israeli writer of Russian descent known for his micro stories. Epstein has published 10 books to date, including a children’s book and poetry, 3 novels, 2 short story collections and two novellas. He features his flash fiction as well as literary critique in the HaAretz and Yediot Aharonot newspapers. Epstein's work has been translated into numerous languages, including English, French, Portuguese and Russian. Epstein has twice received the Israeli Prime Minister's Prize for Authors and Poets (2003; 2016). In 2013-14 Epstein took part in the Utopia “Designing Tomorrow” project, getting authors, designers and creatives together with technology entrepreneurs and scientists. Epstein was born in 1971 in the city of Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) Russia. His family was able to immigrate to Israel (“made Aliyah”) in 1980, when he was 9, settling in the suburb of Lod.
